o/e enamel on salvaged aluminum signs, 77.5ā€ x 70ā€ (2021)

ā€œFolie a Deuxā€ exhibition at Trustman Gallery, February 2022

As an overview, the upper half of the work is composed in a form that hints at the odd numbers 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9, with odd-numbered alphabet characters depicted at the top edge. The lower half is composed in a form that hints at the even numbers, including 0, with even-numbered alphabet characters depicted along the bottom edge.

The work uses 20 PUBLIC SAFETY signs as its canvas.

The production process was improvisational, beginning with randomly applied dots, followed by straight lines drawn to intersect them. Work then proceeded panel (sign) by panel. Working panel by panel intentionally avoided looking at the overall composition during production, deliberately steering clear of guiding the outcome.

The actual result is a kaleidoscopic projection of the artist's subconscious information about shapes, colors, and visual balance.
